January Wrap Up and February TBR

January has come and gone and we are in a whole new month of 2018! January went by so quickly, I hope that is not a sign for the rest of the year! I set my Goodreads Challenge to one book a week and I am already failing at it! 🤦🏻‍♀️

This past month, I read 2/4 books:

These were fairly quick reads, and I still have to write their reviews. It’s on my to do list!

January was also birthday month!!!! So that means I bought a significant amount of books all thanks to turning another year older and a lot of Christmas gift cards 😂.

I left out Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu, I left it on the shelf with Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo and completely forgot about it. The book that I am most excited about to start reading is A Darker Shade of Magic, now that I have the first book I can start the series!!

Now that brings us to my February TBR:

I need to finish reading Wintersong by S Jae Jones, so that’s on the top of my list.

November Wrap Up

Hello December!!! My Christmas tree has been up for over a week now, and the next thing that has to go up are my lights around the house! Maybe I can convince the hubby to do it with the promise of pie or cookies as a reward. December is one of my favorite months, and I can’t wait to see what this month has in store for me, my family, and my blog!

November was a busy month for me! I read quite a few books and most of the ones that I had put for that month’s TBR. I am still many many books behind schedule on my GoodReads challenge, and at this point I am just going to have to be okay with not finishing my goal of 75 books (maybe I can read baby S size books and count that towards my reading challenge ;)).

Last month I said I wasn’t going to buy any books, except for one. And well I kind of broke that rule last weekend during Black Friday. #sorrynotsorry

I think I did pretty well. I only bought myself three books, and I bought three books for baby S. Her collection is looking pretty good right now, and I can’t wait to really start reading her bedtime stories. I read to her now, but I can’t wait until she can start engaging in story time. =) (The last book is Baby Beluga by Raffi Cavoukian)

This month I plan on reading:

I’ll be traveling for a couple of weeks, so I really plan on reading some books off of my Kindle and save Renegades and Windwitch for when I return home.

October Monthly Wrap Up

Can you believe that it’s October 1st already? This past month has been a whirlwind of activity for me. I felt like I became a real adult because I’m taking care of a baby girl who turned one month, bought and moved into a brand new house, and that’s about it. I feel like all good things comes in threes (or at least when you are listing things out), so I guess I’ll come up with a third reason soon enough.

This month has been a better reading month for me. I am still 18 books behind schedule (and that’s even lowering my Goodreads Challenge number to 75!). It seems as soon as I finish a book and the number goes down to 17, the next day it is back to 18 (lol). Hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up and actually read 75 books by the end of December!

This month by book haul was a little crazy, I said I was only going to buy The Language of Thorns and One Dark Crown by Kendare Blake. Well, I ended up buying a bunch more than that. Here is a pic below:

This month (although I already bought one book) my plan is to not buy any books until the new year. I really need to slim down my TBR shelves, it is now overflowing. But, if I happen to find a copy of A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab then I am definitely buying it! I need it in order to start the trilogy, and actually a brand new cover was released on Tuesday so I might have to get that one in order to get all of the bonus content! I just wish it was white like the rest of the series so that it won’t stand out on my shelf.

June Wrap Up

Hey all, I know it’s already almost a week into July, but with the holiday it was a little busy at my house. I had to play protector to my dogs who were terrified of the fireworks. Thankfully, my neighborhood didn’t go all out like they normally do, so we only had to really deal with it for two days. Other than that, it was nice just being able to stand in my living room and watch fireworks without having to deal with mosquitos and the summer heat! How did you spend your fourth?

This month was a good reading month for me. I was able to read a good amount of books, but then I hit a reading slump near the end of the month. =/ I’m going on vacation soon (and we’re driving, ugh) so hopefully I’ll be able to read a bunch of books on the road.

Not bad considering I’ve been reading like one book a month during the Spring semester. I feel like now that it’s summer I have more time to do things, but I just have no motivation to do so, especially since I am supposed to be writing my thesis which is due at the end of the month!

I really suck at giving myself a monthly TBR pile, so I’m not going to make one the month of July. I’ll just read whatever book I pick up, because honestly it’s probably been on my TBR shelf for awhile. I’ll just set a goal of reading 5 books this month! I think that will be more obtainable!

I am on a book buying ban, so I haven’t bought a single book since probably April! Which I am very proud of myself for. Although I really want Sarah Dessen’s new book that just came out earlier in June, and of course when Leigh Bardugo release’s her book all bets are off!

April Monthly Wrap-Up

I can’t believe it is already 6 days into May, and I am just now doing my wrap-up for April! Where has the time gone? Oh, I know to school. This past month has been nothing but presentations and deadlines, and I am so glad that on Tuesday it will finally be all over (for this semester at least, one more to go). April has been a great and terrible month for me. I was able to read a few more books than in March, I kept up with my blog a little bit more, and we found out that we are having a baby girl in September! So even with all my deadlines and presentations, April was still a win for me =).

Normally, I would give myself a TBR list, but maybe I’ll just make my goal to read 5 or more books. With finals over on Tuesday, hopefully this will be a realistic challenge!

My January TBR was to read Truthwitch and Lock & Mori: Mind Games. For once I can say that I finally accomplished a TBR list for that month! This month I will like to read:

November Wrap Up and December TBR

Another month has come and gone and now it is December! When did that happen?! I just so happen to love December, mainly because Christmas happens and then a week later it is New Years and then a week later it’s my birthday! That is almost a month of celebrating, and I am okay with that!
