This weekly hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, featuring a question about books each week. The purpose is to bring bookish bloggers together, basically. To participate, write a post about the question for that week and add your link.
This weeks question:16th – 22nd – Who is your favorite children’s books author and why? (submitted by Kitty @ Vicarious Bookworm)
The first one that comes to mind is Mary Pope Osborne and her Magic Tree House series! I loved these books growing up, and every time we had one of those Scholastic catalogs I tried to get all the books! My dad let me circle all the books that I wanted and then he would go through and pick out a few that would add up to the limit he gave me. When I got a bit older he let me do all of that myself. I felt like such a big girl and I thought that was how everyone had to buy books when it wasn’t Book Fair time. Through these Scholastic catalogs was when I first discovered The Magic Tree House and I built up quite a collection thanks to them. Now that I have a little person, I hope to be able to do the same thing for her. (Side note: do they still do those Scholastic catalogs in elementary school?!)
