Goodreads Monday (10/02/2017)

Goodreads Monday is a meme hosted by Lauren @Page Turner,  and the idea is to post a book that’s on your TBR pile and show it off. This is a great way to show off books I have not yet managed to read!

This week I have chosen:

somethingstrangeanddeadly

Title: Something Strange and Deadly (#1)

Author: Susan Dennard

Published: July 24th 2012 by Harper Teen

Goodreads Summary:

There’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia. . . .

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about.

Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper:

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor . . . from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including the maddeningly stubborn yet handsome Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)

I first discovered Susan Dennard from her current series The Witchlands. I loved Truthwitch (and Windwitch is on my TBR shelf). I have the second book in this series, but hopefully I can get the first one soon so that I can start reading it. The good thing about discovering a book series after it is done, is that I don’t have to wait a year for the next book to come out!

What is on your TBR shelf this week?

Author:

I am currently working on my master's degree in Environmental Science. I am an avid reader as well as a movie enthusiast! I currently live at the bottom of Texas with my husband and three dogs.
