Feed the Flames by Annette Mariefeedtheflames

Steel and Stone #3.5

Published: July 22nd 2015 by Annette Marie

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Goodreads Summary:

In this short story addition to the Steel & Stone series, discover the fate of Seiya and Lyre following the conclusion of YIELD THE NIGHT (Steel & Stone #3).

Seiya wants nothing more than to disappear with her brother, safe from all the enemies that would tear them apart. But now she, along with Lyre, has been taken prisoner. Separated from Ash, his fate unknown, and tormented by memories of her imprisonment in Asphodel, she must put her faith in Lyre and his carefully guarded secrets. To have any chance of escape, they’ll have to work together to find a way out before they learn what fate their captors are planning for them.

“Death was one mistake away for them all, and her brother was no exception.”

This picks up right after Lyre and Seiya are kidnapped by the Ras. So far I am not a big fan of Seiya, but this books helps me like her a tiny bit. We get more insight on who she and Lyre are as characters, and now I wish we knew more about Lyre and his mysterious past!

Sometimes I find it hard to rate short stories because they are so short! This one though is packed with action, just like the series. Marie could have written an entire novel on just this side story alone.
